About Fiona Romanin

As a celebrant I tell a story.

This story marks a moment in a person’s life. Hopes, dreams and expectations are expressed in words and symbols to be celebrated with a ceremony. Individuals, couples and families today have a wide choice of what rites of passage are important to them, with events and milestones in our lives becoming more personalized.

There is a proverb that says…. “If love interferes with your business, quit your business”.  Love, however, is my business! Love grows and changes throughout our lives. I celebrate and tell the story of the love a couple have for each other as they are engaged, planning their wedding & their future lives together.  Couples renewing their vows after a lifetime together, share their story and their ongoing commitment. A baby naming, celebrates and tells the story of the love parents have for their child as they welcome and introduce their son or daughter into their circle of family and friends.

It is my absolute pleasure and a privilege to share with couples and families such special times in their lives.

Whether big or small, traditional or contemporary, formal or relaxed, as a Civil Marriage Celebrant, I am able to help you to create a ceremony that you and your guests will remember. Each ceremony is as unique as you are and should reflect your love and commitment.

I am young, friendly and will listen to your needs so that on the day of your occasion, the ceremony is all you have dreamed of.

What is my story….I am happily married (ten years this year – my how the years fly by) and we have three beautiful and busy children. I am a registered nurse and have previously worked  as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at a major teaching hospital in Sydney. I loved my years as a nurse and it was a very rewarding time. I have made lifelong friends and have fond memories of the patients that I cared for. Shift work, however,  just didn’t fit into our plans as a young family. The one aspect of working that I missed was connecting with peoples on a personal level – then, one day I went to a civil marriage ceremony and my life changed! The ceremony was lovely and I thought that this was a profession that would allow me to have it all – the flexibility to be there for my family but to give something special to couples on one of the most important and memorable days of their lives.

I love every aspect of being a celebrant and hope to be performing ceremonies for the next few decades…..will keep you posted as my story continues to unfold.
